About

PackWheel began with a simple goal: make it easier for one person to move heavy loads through demanding backcountry terrain.

Designed from Experience

The original PackWheel was created for solo archery elk hunts, where hauling gear and game through rough terrain could quickly become one of the hardest parts of the trip. What began as a lightweight, single-wheel cart has evolved through years of real-world testing, customer feedback, and continuous product development.

More Than 15 Years of Innovation

2007

The idea for PackWheel began with the creation of an ultralight, single-wheel cart designed for solo backcountry archery elk hunts.

2008

The first working prototype, known as the “Meat Cart,” was built, tested, and successfully used in the field.

2011–2012

A lighter aluminum prototype was developed, leading to the official formation of Pack Wheel. In 2012, the first production models featuring 20-inch wheels became available for purchase.

2013–2014

PackWheel expanded its lineup with 24-inch, 26-inch, and 29-inch wheel options. During this period, the frame was also refined to improve strength, usability, and performance.

2015

Testing began on a motorized hub system. Although the original design was eventually set aside, the research helped lay the groundwork for future electric PackWheel models.

2018

The first-generation E-Pack was launched, introducing a motor, chain, and electric drive system designed to help users move heavier loads through challenging terrain.

2018–2023

PackWheel continued refining the electric platform through the Gen 2 and Gen 3 models. Manufacturing challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic forced the company to explore new equipment and production methods, many of which ultimately became part of the standard manufacturing process.

2023–Present

The Gen 4 E-Pack became the current PackWheel model, featuring a reinforced handlebar, external tie-down points, and optional shelving. A reinforced handlebar upgrade is also available for Gen 3 models.

Always Improving

PackWheel has never been a finished idea. Every generation has been shaped by real-world use, customer feedback, and a commitment to making the product more reliable, capable, and practical.

We are continuing to develop new products and accessories for both current and previous PackWheel models. We are also working to reduce overall costs through larger production volumes and more efficient manufacturing, without sacrificing product quality.

Moving forward, we also plan to offer carefully selected hunting gear that complements the PackWheel system. Stay tuned for new products, accessories, and improvements.
