How It Works

PackWheel uses a balanced single-wheel design to help one person move heavy loads through backcountry terrain, narrow trails, and places traditional carts cannot easily reach.

The Single-Wheel Advantage

Instead of spreading the load across two wheels, PackWheel places the weight over one central wheel. The wheel supports most of the load while the user controls balance, direction, and speed from the handlebars.

Four Simple Steps

01

Lay It Down

Place the PackWheel on its side before loading. This creates a stable platform and makes it easier to attach panniers, shelves, gear, or game.

02

Load and Secure It

Distribute the load evenly across both sides. Position heavier items low and close to the frame, then secure everything firmly with straps or tie-downs.

03

Stand It Up

Raise the PackWheel upright using the handlebars. Once balanced over the wheel, the frame carries the load while you guide and stabilize it.

04

Move Through the Terrain

Guide the PackWheel along trails, hills, uneven ground, and tight spaces. At your destination, lay it down again to unload safely.

Powered Assistance

Motorized E-Pack

The E-Pack adds an electric motor and variable-speed control to help move heavy loads through demanding terrain.

  • Variable-speed powered assistance
  • Typical operating speeds of approximately 1 to 3 mph
  • Battery range varies by load, terrain, speed, and conditions
  • Designed for heavy backcountry hauling

Simple and Lightweight

Non-Motorized PackWheel

The non-motorized PackWheel uses the same balanced single-wheel concept without a motor, battery, or electrical system.

  • Lightweight and mechanically simple
  • No charging or battery maintenance
  • User-powered movement and braking
  • Ideal for lighter loads and simpler trips

Load It Properly

Keep Weight Low

Place heavier items close to the wheel and frame to improve balance and handling.

Balance Both Sides

Distribute weight as evenly as possible between the left and right sides.

Secure the Load

Use appropriate straps and tie-down points so the load cannot shift while travelling.
